In terms of a geographical location, this one's in the deep south, not the deep south of the United

States of America, the deep south of the world being Antarctica and the southern ocean,

the southern ocean being a body of water of which I have had some personal experience.

It's also very strongly about Ernest Chackleton and the expedition that he famously led to try and walk across Antarctica via the South Pole.

That never happened, but a far grander adventure ensued.

But this one, I'm always trying to stress that it's not just about ghost stories. And I would say that this particular chapter, this particular story,

broadens it out in the way that I want the conversation, broadened out,

because it goes to the heart of something, I think,

if people are hesitant about acknowledging ghosts, the classic ghost,

you know, the survival in some form of a consciousness or a spirit, which a lot of people

feel uncomfortable contemplating for all sorts of reasons, not least because it lays you open to ridicule if you do, open yourself up to that thought.
