Okay, it's time for the weekly monologue.

I was really struck this week when I heard the government's announced what they're calling a COVID-19 day of

reflection. I read about it and quite frankly tasted sick in my mouth. Quote, to mark the fifth

anniversary of the pandemic, people across the UK are invited to come together to remember and reflect on this unique period of our history, as well as their own experiences. The day will be an opportunity for the public to remember and commemorate those who lost their lives during the pandemic, reflect on the sacrifices made and the impact on our daily lives,

and pay tribute to the work of health and social care staff, frontline workers, researchers

and all those who volunteered and showed acts of kindness during this unprecedented time.

This is most assuredly not a joke. It's not even a sick joke. This is actually

scheduled to happen on March the 9th this year. I call this a blatant mockery of the dead

and of the destroyed. This is about rubbing our noses in the fact the government, who were in opposition

at the time of the pandemic, right enough, but who cheered it on as lustily as the Tories who

were actually in power. It's about rubbing our noses in the fact the whole damned lot of them took part in the greatest

crime ever committed against humanity and got away with it.
