For some time now, days, certainly, weeks possibly, I've been preoccupied by and paying a lot of attention to Ireland, to things Irish. Irish history, Irish, prehistory.

But suffice it to say, I'm watching the place at the moment and I find it hard to explain why.

Maybe you could say I'm haunted by Ireland right now. As an example, I've been

reading a book called Atlantean, Atlantean by a guy called Bob Quinn, who made various television documentaries over the years.

And he wrote about, made films about his idea that ancient Ireland was closely connected

via the Atlantic Sea and the Atlantic coastline to Spain, the Mediterranean, to North Africa,

all the way to the Middle East, a whole other world, a whole other set of connections, ancient and meaningful connections.

I mean, it's easy now, even from the Long Island of England, Scotland and Wales to overlook Ireland or to take it for granted, just somewhere on the edge. A place maybe doesn't matter to anyone but the Irish. But I look at Ireland
