This week we are walking around one of the great landmark buildings in all of Britain.

It's a castle, a fortification that sits smack in the centre of the busy metropolis of London.

It's surrounded now by those ubiquitous towers of steel and glass.

You know, the high-tech here today, gone tomorrow, infrastructure that's common to all world cities now.

That homogenising.

The Tower of London has been scrubbed up, has been maintained for the 21st century, But scratch beneath the surface,

and there's layer upon layer of history for a thousand years,

and like so many places around the world,

some people sometimes sense the residues of emotions and events that happened there.

And I do not dispute the authenticity and sincerity of the

testimony I just remain open-minded and whether you see or feel a presence from the towers past

there is no escaping the fact that the buildings walls are a very real physical reminder of who we once were, the kind of society from which we

are descended and into which we might return. So before we get started, let me say a big thanks
