You know there's certain foundational pop culture knowledge that almost all of us carry

with us.

It's a pop culture scaffold so what I do is I roll that scaffold in and I say all right.

Let me try to clad this scaffold.

Let me clad that with a science I'm trying to communicate with you.

I am bad, familiar things with the unfamiliar and then you have a comfort level with the

new information that I'm trying to communicate.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist who's brought the heavens to earth for millions

of people around the world.

For years he's been able to communicate with us about the universe in ways that make

the mystery of the cosmos clear and vivid.

And I'm sure you're in vivid enough for people like me to be both odd and delighted.

I was really curious to know how he did it.

Neil I'm so glad you're on the show.

This is really terrific because you know I don't communicate science.

I tried my job as to help scientists tell their story but you're a real scientist and

a real communicate.

Okay.

So you're a deep trouble.

Well I sure you have your job as secured because there's plenty of folks who want to ultimately

learn science and then try to share it with those who want to know about it.
