0:12.8	Last time in chapters five and six of Nehemiah, we discussed six types of opposition that Nehemiah faced.
0:19.9	The first was ridicule. That's opposition that can lead
0:22.7	to losing heart. Threats. Opposition that can lead to fear. Internal conflict. Opposition that divides.
0:30.5	Temptation. Opposition that distracts. Lying. Opposition that creates confusion. And finally, personal attacks, opposition that destroys credibility.
0:42.6	All six are strategies the enemy still uses today.

0:47.5	And each has the same purpose to distract us from God.
0:52.1	In fact, if we took a moment to ponder, we would most likely find that we are at risk

1:05.9	Where are we in the greater story of God's plan of redemption?
1:14.4	Well, we're in the post-exylic period. Let me explain this. That covers the years from 539 BC to the birth of Jesus. 500 years are divided into
1:25.3	four other periods. The Persian period is the first. This is where we are
1:32.1	in our story of Nehemiah. This time period began in 539 BC and lasted over 200 years. It's during this
1:41.1	period that the last books of the Old Testament were completed.
1:45.3	The book of Nehemiah is the last historical book before the 400-year silence between the Old Testament and the New Testament.
1:54.6	We often forget that there was this like long period of silence.
1:58.2	He covers the time period of about 432 to 400 BC. Now the book of Malachi
2:04.2	is the last prophetic book and is most likely written about the same time as Nehemiah in 430 BC.
2:11.6	Now the second period in the post-exylic period is the Greek period. Under Alexander the Great, which began in 331 BC
