What a joy it was to preach this series of messages at Faith Baptist Church on the book of

Nehemiah. I've entitled this series, When God Interrupts Your Life, and I hope it's a great

encouragement to you and helps you to be a better servant of Jesus. God bless you,

my friends. Nehemiah chapter number 12 in your Bible, actually we'll be looking at chapter 11

and chapter 12. The good news is we're covering two chapters today in the sermon. The bad news is we'll be here until 3.30 this afternoon.

Those of you that might be joining us, we've been preaching a series of messages through the book of Nehemiah.

We've called the series when God interrupts your life.

Because that's exactly what happened in the book of Nehemiah.

God interrupted the life of the man, Nehemiah. He wasn't a builder. He wasn't a project manager. He was a cup bearer. But God gave this man a burden. And that burden that God gave him translated into a call.

And not just a call, but the completion of a task.

And in chapters 1 through 6 of the book in Meemaiah, we find an amazing building project come to fruition.

In spite of persecution, in spite of setback in 52 days, they accomplished a great task for God.

And then in chapter 7, we found it a transition to another focus in the book of Nehemiah.

As a matter of fact, a more important focus.

Because what importance do places have in our life if in those places we're not serving God?

Well, what good is a building if inside that building we're not worshiping God?

So what we find is we find the securing of a city.

We find the building of a wall.

But in chapters 8 through 13, we find a much more important work.

And the much more important work that we find is the building of people's lives.

That's what it ought to always be about at a local church.
