Well, first of all, I need to say thank you to our staff and volunteers for turning this room around so quickly from last night with the ladies' winter gala.

I was a part of that as well, and to see that room transformed and then back to normal overnight.

So thank you.

You guys did a great job.

Second, I know that we've gone through Nehemiah,

like on Sunday morning, like two months ago,

but we're back in it because we're, this is a very different format.

It's a different way to look at it. And a Sunday is more

of a homiletical sermon series. This is verse by verse through the book. And so, um, that's where we are.

I almost skipped it and went right into Esther, but I was told by a couple staff members,

well, if you do that, you got to go back so we have

this in archive. So we're doing Nehemiah.

Turn in your Bibles to Nehemiah Chapter 1. How many of you are already there?

Wow. Look at you. You're so prepared.

Nehemiah Chapter 1, Father, thank you for an opportunity to gather, to study, and then to have your spirit make application to our lives.

We commit the time in Jesus' name.

The name, Nehemiah, is actually pronounced in Hebrew Nehamiah. Somebody asked me yesterday,

why don't we just start calling these people by their original Hebrew names?

That's why. Nobody wants to run around saying Nechamia or Eliahu. We could, I suppose, but we just keep it anglicized.
