We've had so much fun talking about Nehemiah Chapter 9. I think I've used the term

drink of water in the desert in terms of reading through the Old Testament. It's just

great that it feels like the team you've been rooting for, the people you've been

rooting for have finally come around and all together,

collectively in the fall of 444 BC under the leadership of Ezra, they all get together

here at the narrative part of the Old Testament and they're like

God you were right all along and we were wrong all along. We were stiff-necked we were

stubborn we refused to listen everything that is broken about the situation we now find ourselves in as subservient

people in Persia, it's all our fault.

And all we can do is throw ourselves at your mercy.

All we can do is say that we get it, that we want your forgiveness. your moving forward stuff looks like in Nehemiah chapter 10. It's just been beautiful.

I love this part of the Bible. But you know how sometimes you watch a movie, you read a book,

you watch a TV show, and it feels like it's kind of wrapping up and

you're like, oh, everybody learned the lessons they needed to learn, the character

arcs feel like they're about to resolve.

But then you look at the runtime and you go, this isn't going to stick. There's

a tension here that is yet unresolved. We have a long ways to go with this plot. Well, it's kind of the

same thing with the Bible. You get to Nehemiah 9 feels like maybe we've got it figured out but then you have that many

pages left. You figure out pretty quickly, okay I got a whole testament to go here. Yeah. This isn't

going to totally work out. This is a nice step but we're not done. And sure
