So, Hey my friends, it's Matt, this is a 10 minute Bible hour podcast and I am

recording this in real time for a Monday.

So if you're listening to this as is coming out, it's going to be a Monday for you.

And I am not unaware of how Mondays can be.

It takes a lot of emotional energy sometimes to get in the right

head space for the week and so you want positive things on a Monday morning and

we're going to do a gigantic prayer of regret.

So it feels on surface like this probably isn't going to be a good fit

for your commute into work or your morning workout

with your unitard, your sweat-drenched leopard print unitard that is starting to wear just a little bit thin and people

can maybe kind of see through it, you might want to investigate that.

You might think this just isn't for me, I'm going to listen to this another time, but I think it's going to be okay.

Because I actually think that this prayer from Ezra in Ezra Chapter 9 represents not something super sad and horrible, but it represents the rebound point

where he's gone through all the paces of figuring out what went wrong and why things

are screwed up he's grieved it he's mourned the mistakes, but now he's going to go and verbally

square accounts with God and express what he wants the game plan to be and ask for God's blessing

in that, and as kind of how it works right when we screwed things up too and I'm not even saying this is all Ezra's fault and I don't think it really is I think he inherited this mess from other people's bad decisions in this situation we've been

reading about in the book of Ezra but for you and me I mean sometimes we

inherit other people's messes sometimes we make messes and let other people

inherit them from us but wherever the mess came from, that moment of clarity

and awareness, this is a situation I'm in and this is how I got here and this is

who I need to square accounts with and this is what the plan probably needs to look like moving forward.
