The day hasn't started off too well in the Independent Republic, I'm afraid.

I woke to the news that there was no running water in the entire postcode that I live in.

So there was no shower, no tap water tocode that I live in. So there was no

shower, no tap water to clean my teeth. And so already I've been to the hairdressers for a wash

and blow dry. For those of you who are watching live on the YouTube stream, you will notice

that I look slightly more quaffed than I normally do. The good news is that the water is

slowly being turned back on after some kind of water main disaster somewhere in South London. But the bad news is Thames Water is going to make a late entry onto the planks of the week list,

which we're filming later on today. I'll tell you why. Because far from giving out information

on their website this morning when I checked, they instead were happy to inform me of their

policy on the gender pay gap and their statement on modern day slavery.

Barvellous, isn't it?

I'm not interested in modern day slavery.

I'm not interested in the gender pay gap.

I just want to know when I could get the water back.
