My goodness. It's world famous gentleman detective, Steve Meyer Swiss. What are you doing here?

Well, I gotta see what's going on in this town. Needful things.

The town of Needful Things. My goodness.

I've been looking at the book, and the name of the book is always the name of the town it takes place in.

That is the critical function of detective in-in books, don't you know?

Well, I suppose you are the detective, so you would know that.

Yeah, today, me and Steve Meyer Swiss here are going to solve the mystery of needful things.

Specifically, what the hell is going on?

Well, at the end of this book, everybody kills themselves and other people.

And so I backtracked reading through the book to figure out what is all in common with it, for it is a Southern

mystery.

A mystery in Maine.

But a Southern style mystery nonetheless.

What exactly is it makes a mystery Southern style, Mr. Swiss?
