the erim, or prophets. These are the terms used. Dreams would be either personally or through other

people who are getting dreams from God. The erim, this is something the high priest had, the

erim and them. And there was somehow, we don't know how they were used. There were somehow used

in helping to determine God's will in the context of the tabernacle at the time. And God won't

speak to him that way. And he won't speak through the prophets. God's typical guides for kings.

And add to this the complexity that Samuel has just died. Okay. Samuel was like the prophet

who inointed Saul and kind of was, he was like a counselor for Saul, telling him what to do.

But he wouldn't listen. Saul wouldn't listen. Finally, Samuel died. So Saul, he's like,

no one will talk to me. Samuel, if I could just get Samuel, I would know what God wants me to do.

And I could, I could have the right plan for defeating the Philistines. So Saul goes to a pagan

medium, someone who's like a spiritist who like contacts the dead. And he goes in disguise,

because he's previously kicked the mediums out of the land. He's removed them from the land.

So they find one who's been in hiding. She's like kind of stealthy there. And he goes in disguise
