As we begin our prayer time, take a moment to settle in and remove distractions.

If you haven't already, try to gather communion elements.

As we prepare to take communion together, listen to this verse in 1 John, chapter 1.

Verse 3 says this.

We saw it, we heard it, and now we're telling you so you can experience it along with us.

This experience of communion with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Our motive for writing this is simply this. We want you to enjoy this too. I love the invitation to

experience communion with the Father and His Son Jesus.

The idea of communion or communing in this text literally means to be in close spiritual contact with God and His Son.

So let's take the moments we have in our time today to be close to God the Father

and to Jesus, the Son. Communion, it's a holy practice that helps us do just this. Before you take the bread

and the cup, I want you to start by praying out loud and inviting

Jesus to be near to you today. Whatever you're facing, maybe a difficult day or a challenging

week ahead. Maybe there's some stress or anxiety that you've experienced recently.

Invite God with your own words into every area of your life.

Go ahead. Now that we've invited Jesus' presence into this space, let's commune with him.

Take the bread and eat it. And as you do, I want you to surrender unhealed areas of your life to him.

This could be physical healing that you're believing for, or maybe it's healing in a relationship or friendship.

Whatever it is, we can surrender it to Jesus today.

The bread is symbolic of the body of Jesus that was broken so that our relationships,

our physical bodies, and all the areas of our lives can be healthy and whole. Go ahead and

take time now to eat the bread and surrender those areas to him. Now, as we take the cup, let's remember that it's the sacrificed blood of Jesus that purifies us from all of our sin.
