He is well known for his fiction that explores cryptography, mythology, linguistics,

and in his most recent book, Polostan, espionage.

He is among the favorite authors of Bill Gates, Sergey Brin, Peter Thiel.

He advised Jeff Bezos' blue origin.

He was chief futurist for the company Magic Leap, where he was developing augmented reality

headsets, and he even wrote a novel straight to Audible based on some of the

IP that he and his colleagues developed there. His 1992 breakout novel, Snow Crash, became

required reading for Xbox developers, and his 1999 novel, Cryptonomicon, which was my first

Stevenson read, has been credited with, and I quote,

sketching the basis of cryptocurrency. Not only is he pretty good at predicting the future,
