0:46.0 | Remember, the show is PG-13, so you might hear a naughty word or two. Michigan State beat the University of Michigan, Ellie Downey has retired. We have both the junior and senior U.S. all-around champion with epic faults, perfect form, artistry, and difficulty. |
1:06.0 | The most beloved competitor of all time, Vanessa Atler, is here with us today talking about college gym. Yay! Welcome to the number one gymnastics podcast and the Galaxy. I'm Jessica and I'm her Spencer from the Balancing situation and the great Vanessa Atler. We are so excited to have you here. |
1:22.0 | Thank you. What a sweet introduction. I feel so comfortable. |
1:28.0 | I understand that you have, because you have these great TikToks and Instagrams now, totally under social media presence, but you've always been ahead of the curve with social media and communicating with fans. |
1:41.0 | Way back in the day, you did this too. You want to get into college gymnastics. You're involved in the Alumni Association, you're an insurance broker now, and you're looking at college gymnastics. |
1:55.0 | You want to figure out how to choose a team. We have a special service that we provide where we help you. One of our many serves. |
2:07.0 | We provide where we help you choose a team. It's a very scientific guide and questionnaire, so we will help you choose. |
2:17.0 | Oh my god, so excited. Before we get to that, I want to know what you think of some of the skills that are being done in college right now, especially since you're like the queen of making really difficult skills look easy and artistic. |
2:36.0 | So can you rate some of these skills that we're going to talk about here on a scale of like terrifying. I never wanted to do this in my whole life to like this is Simone Biles level difficulty and hats off or just like give us your feedback on them. |
2:56.0 | Sure. The first one I want to talk about is we have at least two gymnasts, maybe more doing a two foot aerial so front aerial landing and two feet on beam. If you're a club gym, remember, you can watch along. Right now we're going to look at some of these. Thanks to everybody who tweeted some of these routines. |
3:14.0 | So we could put them in here for Vanessa. So tell me about doing. Did you ever try front aerial land and two feet. |
3:23.0 | No, no. I mean, I wasn't like even if I mean, it's very similar to just a regular front aerial as far as I feel like that would be like where you would start first and back in my day. |
3:36.0 | We didn't do like a ton of front aerial is everywhere like they do now, you know, so it wasn't like really like a progression. I think anybody thought of so I never tried it. |
3:45.0 | Obviously, I've seen it done before and not not done that well. I mean, Gabrielle does it beautifully. You can see sometimes people do it with like bent knees. |
3:57.0 | But if you have legs like her, oh my god, you know, all you have to do is pop it up and then it's just a front layout. So I would have loved to try this. |
4:07.0 | I was never scared of any skills on beam and stuff that seems like something I would have loved to do, but I there's no way I would have done it that well. |
4:15.0 | I'm speaking of you like, I feel like you totally would have. I mean, you were never scared of anything on beam speaking of that. Like I remember watching you on. |
4:27.0 | I just know what show was that the reality show that I feel like was already know where the you just like what they they took you to a gym and you just like got on the beam and did a standing gain or layout. |
4:40.0 | Just like, oh, yeah, I'll do this first skill on the high beam. |
