And this is my first chance to talk to John and anyone really about the new NBA plan. John wrote a long piece

about that. And overall, when you first heard, John, that they're trying to get this done

and start on December 22nd. What did you think? I thought it was ambitious for sure. Definitely a shorter turnaround than we had been led to believe,

really, for most of the year. I'd been hearing MLK. I'd been hearing maybe even February

March. And so this is a big reversal by the league, but it's one that makes sense if you think

about it from a revenue revenue perspective i mean the

NBA's best window has always been Christmas to the end of June that's essentially the thing that

ended the lockout in 2011 if you remember yeah was that uh the I mean the networks essentially

ended that lockout because they were like we don't want to lose our Christmas games or else

we're going to hammer you guys and then that's And then that's what sort of bashed everyone's head

together to get that lockout over with. And so it doesn't shock me that it's coming into play again.

However, the issue now is we just finished a season in October and a lot of players and especially

prominent players

who went to the conference finals or the finals, I think are going to be a little reluctant to go

back to training camp in the beginning of December.
