Summary

Today’s word of the day is ‘twilight’ as in we are now entering the Twilight Zone as in vaccines came up at NBA Media Days and here we go again. Bradley Beal and Andrew Wiggins have some things to say, but not a lot to say. Damian Lillard spoke up about getting the vaccine. Steph Curry had to answer for Wiggins. The NBA has an issue and it’s one they created. (20:25) Giannis spoke about wanting more titles. Repeating is hard to do. Harder than you think. The team, the health, the edge, the controversies, everything. (24:00) Look at Kawhi Leonard. Left the Raptors and goes to the Clippers and can’t get back to the Finals. He tore his ACL and he chose a long-term deal to return. (30:00) Review: The Starling. (33:20) Are robot umps and refs coming to professional sports? What about just better technology to make the calls correct and fast? This was my experience in meetings with MLB about this. (39:20) Brandon Belt broke his hand after getting hit by a pitch. The San Francisco Giants have to be frustrated big time. Postseason races are in the final week and this is the LAST thing a team wants. (45:55) NPPOD Learn more about your ad choices. You are now entering the twilight zone. Nothing personal word of the day. That's an old show.

1:03.7

The twilight zone. It's when you're in an alternate form of reality. I don't know that it's

1:08.3

necessarily a dystopian reality. It's just something that you look at and you say to yourself,

1:13.8

how many times does this happen during the course of a day? You're looking at a situation

1:18.5

where you're listening to someone talk and you just say, what are you talking about?

1:25.9

How can this be happening? Am I really in a situation? That's why twilight zone is the word of the

1:32.7

day because I sat in the twilight zone all day yesterday, scouring the internet, watching the NBA

1:38.6

media day. Media day is an important day back in the day. Today, I would get rid of media day because

1:47.1

every day is media day. Everyone's got ability to reach out to their fans on social media.

1:54.5

Media day in the beginning used to be when the local reporters would come, they would interview

2:01.5

each player. You'd get sound bites for the local news. You'd get photos. Photo day is when

2:08.4

you're in game entertainment people come and see, you know those photos that are on the jumbo

2:12.6

tron and those videos that you see when the Alan Parsons project introduces the Chicago Bulls

2:20.2

or when they heat, they blow up the court with that fire extinguisher and the fireman standing

2:24.8

right there and they blow it up and the starters are introduced and you look up and it's all these

2:31.4

great videos. All that has to get filmed and that gets filmed before the season starts.
