a lot of my good friends have birthdays today. Happy birthday to all of my good friends here on June 20th. I don't

know how that, they clustered. I guess that's, you never expect clusters, but that's kind of how things work. I always watched the roulette wheel in Vegas. You're like, oh man, five

Welcome to the show, everybody. It's Fantasy NBA today. I am your host Dan Baspris.

And again, this is now the official

beginning of draft coverage on Fantasy NBA today. You guys know I don't pay attention

to this stuff. I think rookies are overdrafted. I think that way too much hype gets made and the ones that

tend to succeed on the fantasy side are often the ones that you don't expect

going into fantasy draft night because the ones you do get drafted for the buzziness for the upside and it almost

always takes those players the ones that have the basketball in their hands the ones that are expected

to have a large role it does take them a few months to get used to the NBA.

We have, however, talked over the last two off seasons on this show about how I need to soften my stance on my rookie hatred a little

bit and so last off season headed into the draft in fact we spoke to a few of our experts

at sport the sports ethos and they talked me into

caring about some of the high efficiency big men.

Those are the guys that can produce fantasy value immediately because their field goal percent

is built-in positive. Rebounding blocks are a built-in positive and if they're not a complete

disaster at the free-throw line there isn't that negative that you get hit with from these guys that end up needing the ball in their hands, the usage guys, the point guards, even the wings that need to take a ton of shots that can weigh things down,

that can saggy with turnovers, percentages tend to hurt rookies quite a lot.
