Monday night edition of the DuncTime basketball podcast the first ever NBA award show is in the books

We'll talk a little bit about what the results were and our opinions on them

Although if you really are interested to know we recorded back in April about what our all of our picks were and and our thoughts

So it won't spend too much time there

But wanted to talk a little bit about some of the voting for the awards and then we got to get to a wrap up

Finally of our offseason preview series New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns. So there's what did you think of the show in general?

It was a thing that happened

Should we just let you should we just cut it off there. That's fine

That's we actually talk about like real shit on the show

Maybe we should just like ended it at that point. There'll be other people reviewing it

Yeah, well, I think what I'll say is the Bill Russell moment was wonderful

I think that's sure yeah, Monty Williams was great and I like Russell Westbrook speech

The MVP one is tough and this was a different platform than usual when the awards often given out during the week during the day

And then snippets of it are taken out like I was watching the Durant speech live and it was special

But you know, it's it's a different thing and so credit to all them

But I think the fundamental issue with it is that you're never gonna get the timing exactly right

I'm sure it would be so much fun if they could spin it all around and get it done between the end of the regular season the beginning of the playoffs

That's never gonna happen. So absent that it just kind of gets weird. I thought this was fine. Yeah, it was fine

This the whole like oh, it's like the narrative is all messed up like Katie, Steph and LeBron were clearly better than these guys for the MVP

I mean, I enjoyed this spectacle like I watch it with my girlfriend. She had some snarky comments

She of Russell Westbrook's glasses when they first showed she was like it's the boy who lived

That was pretty funny. Oh, maybe we'll get that any event. Uh, I hope to I hope to
