We look at how to heal our own unmet needs and not be dependent on others changing; and how to engage with another person when both are dedicated to mindful communication. We also extend our exploration to societal conflict. The talks are accompanied by reflections and meditations that can directly enhance your capacity to respond to conflict from the most wise and caring part of your being.

| 0:50.7 | dividedness there is in our world. We see it on a global scale with the Ukraine war creating |
| 0:59.8 | this rippling of crisis of famine and threat of nuclear disaster. We see the conflict and |
| 1:06.3 | crisis within countries. The United States is so divided that our democracy is threatened |
| 1:13.5 | and faltering and conflicts been with us through history. It's in our personal lives. It doesn't |
| 1:20.8 | matter how much we meditate, conflicts arise and when they do there can be huge suffering. |
| 1:27.3 | In fact, I know for many people the deepest suffering is the sense of distance or divided |
| 1:33.0 | ness or conflict with people who are dear to them. A deep inquiry for us is how do we bring |
| 1:41.6 | our practice, how do we bring mindfulness and compassion to navigating wakefully through |
| 1:50.1 | crisis? How can we awaken in our relationships when crisis arises? How can we cultivate the |
| 2:00.1 | qualities of awareness that can ripple out and really help bring more wisdom and understanding |
| 2:06.2 | to our divided world? We're going to be exploring conflict this week and next and it's |
| 2:13.1 | drawn from two talks I offered in 2019 that I really hope and think you will find relevant |
