We're sitting down with John Hanson, author.

And John, I want to give you just a moment to mention your book, talk about what it is that

that's kind of been your life experience that led to you writing that book. And then we'll jump

into some questions about essentially what it is you're trying to accomplish as an author in this book and some of the

things that I think you have to offer that will be helpful to our audience who are working through

in various parts of faith crisis or faith transition.

Yeah, pleasure to be here.

I just wanted to mention that, you know, I left the church originally 20 years ago. And when I did so, it was pretty reckless exit. And I was tortured for 20 years. I was tortured for a long, long time., you know, mentally, emotionally. And so I started about

three years ago or four years ago, writing down all my thoughts about my exit from the church

and why I was doing it and all those things. And as I wrote it all down, I realized, you know, there's millions of

people who have done this, what I'm doing. And I don't think they really understand what happened.

A lot of us don't understand what happened. And by writing it all out, I was able to figure out

what hooked me, what got me into it. I was born into it, it of course baptized as an eight-year-old

but why did I why did I stay into it why do I why did I go to a Mormon college

why did I connect with so many other kids there were Mormons and then why didn't I

leave when I recognized there were so many problems and issues that were

disturbing to me and issues that were disturbing to me.
