Over the past seven years, Out There has been bringing you outdoor stories that help you make sense out of your life and your world.

This summer, we're launching a new season called

Nature's Nostalgia. Each episode will fuel your adventures with award-winning narratives and

beloved fan favorites from the early days of Out There. For example, we'll take a look at why

failure can be a good thing by taking you along on one of the toughest trail running races ever held.

The wind right now is absolutely ridiculous. It is just whipping past me, taking all my heat away.

It's not very fun.

But other than the wind, things are great.

We'll take you to the Galapagos, where one woman figured out how to let go of the life that was slowly killing her inside.

Excitement and wonder had replaced all my fear.

This isn't scary. This is amazing. Bring on the whale sharks.

We'll take you up Mount Everest and explore how we make moral decisions, like whether or not to leave someone for dead.

And so it was just as the dawn was breaking and we came around a rock.

And I could not believe that I was seeing what my eyes were telling me I was seeing. It's a guy who's

actively in the process of removing his clothes as quickly as you can, and then you're sure

that something funky is going on, because A, there can't be a person here, and B, if there was a

person here, why would they be removing their clothes at 8,700 meters on Everest?

And we'll take you out on one person's first ever hunting trip, where he grapples with the

question of whether we all have it in us to pull the trigger.

So what we're going to do today is you're going to shoot the first shot.
