Our first story this week is about a way to change cultural attitudes to the controversial

practice of female genital cutting, removing all or part of a girl's external genitals.

Female genital cutting is still rife in many parts of the world, particularly in Africa,

but also in some countries in the Middle East and Asia. It's performed on more than two million girls every year.

International agencies and governments have tried to stop it over recent decades, but it hasn't

worked. Even making it illegal doesn't seem to help, and in some instances has been shown to
