But World Series game one is in the books, and the Nats won it against Garrett Cole, Aaron, a guy that everybody thought was unbeatable, unhittable, they got eight hits off of him,

they got five runs off of Garrett Cole, just so everybody understands.

Garrett Cole had not allowed more than five earned runs since his last loss,

which came on May 22nd.

The five earned runs and eight hits allowed were the most for him over his last

25 starts. The Nationals got to Garrett Cole, and that's your game. You know, everything else

about this game is secondary to the fact that they got to Garrett Cole in his first start in the World Series.

The ace, the guy who had 32 strikeouts in just one earned run and three postseason starts coming in,

hadn't lost since late May.

By the way, his six strikeouts were the fewest for him in his last 12 starts.

The Astros have two aces in Cole and Verlander, so there was the possibility

that you were going to face each of them twice and maybe even Cole three times. Who knows?
