I'm proud of who I am as a Navajo woman who loves the outdoors.

I want other people to share what I have and with the connection I have with the land because it's so fundamental.

You know, so many native people have that connection to the land.

This is Jay Len Gough. people have that connection to the land.

This is Jaylene Gough, founder of Native women's wilderness,

a very new but quickly growing organization.

Jeline describes it as an online gathering to share stories, to learn, and to support other

Native women in the wild.

Here's a little taste of why Jainin chose to focus on Native women.

Our Native women are sacred being. And in tribes, certainly my own tribe,

there's the women who is the leader of the house and I feel like oftentimes our

native women are looked over and there's not necessarily a voice or there's this stoic sense of I'm gonna not I wanted a place for women to share who they are. I wanted a place for our native

women and given the opportunity and a platform to express their voices, to express their

feelings, to express their hardships and their joys.

We need to honor our women more, not just Native women, but honor our women in general.

We do so much.

In most cases, we are the backbone of our family.

And I feel like there's something sacred

and something beautiful about a woman.

And I even more so then feel that way of our native woman

of each person has a significant place on this earth.
