The train disaster in East Palestine, Ohio has put the spotlight on the deadly greed of

capitalists in the transportation industry. Over and over again, corporations in this crucial industry

have cut corners and neglected the most basic safety concerns with disastrous consequences.

And yet, they are still among the biggest recipients of U.S. government assistance.

We need a new system. We need a new society.

We need to demand that which may have sounded impossible even a few weeks ago,

the attendant terrible environmental disaster for especially working class communities in that area,

that got big news and everybody thought,

of course, well, we have to avoid that from happening again, especially when one considers

that the braking system used by the freight rail companies is from the Civil War era.
