tradition that you want to eat greens and black-eyed peas representing

dollars and coins so you'll be rich in the new year

But she told me that like when she grew up like her neighbor

worked for the Farm Bureau and just decided to make up the thing about black-eyed peas making you rich

No way it was just her who came up with that.

I mean we did that growing up, my folks are.
