Today, I want to tell you about my friend Nathaniel, a charming, smart, and fun-loving kid.

Nathaniel love to have fun. He loved to play basketball with his friends,

run up and down the sidewalk all day until the street lights came on, but most of all, he loved

riding his red bike. Now, this wasn't any old bike, no, it was a Huffy 820. Nathaniel knew everything about bikes. He watched YouTube

videos all day of bikers doing spins and tricks. He collected stickers that had bikes on them.

He even had an old black and white picture on his wall of Marshall Major Taylor.

Now, Marshall Major Taylor was known for being one of the first African American

superstars of sports because he was a champion of cycling back in the late 1800s.

That was a long time ago.

But Nathaniel had learned about Marshall Major Taylor from his grandfather, who shared his love of bikes too.

They would sit and watch old videos of the Olympics for hours, around and around, up and down the cyclists would go.

let him, he would ride through the neighborhood until the sun came up. Nathaniel felt free on his

bike. The wind hitting his face, popping a wheelie to impress his friends. Nothing could stop him when he was on his bike.
