Usually we like to do something a little local in the 2 o'clock hour and

Massachusetts voters are going to get a chance to weigh in on a proposed law regarding

the tipped minimum wage for restaurant workers.

Joining us now to discuss is City Councilwoman at large. Aaron Murphy,

Aaron, thank you so much for coming on the show today.

Oh, no, thank you for having me.

Before we get into where you stand and I was able to watch a few clips of you discussing this

with your fellow, some of your fellow city councilmen. I want you to explain what this law is proposing.

Sure, so it's being pushed from out of state, which always makes me suspect, but it's proposing that the tip

credit that restaurant managers, owners get, meaning that everyone who works in the state of Massachusetts is paid at least minimum

wage.

So everyone is paid the $15 minimum wage, but if you work at a tip job like a waitress or a bartender, there's a tip credit
