friends and relatives and enemies even or frenemies, all of those people in your fantasy baseball leagues. Joe Rico is with me today to help look ahead to the weekend. And Joe, my first look here is we're having a weekend of many weekends coming up here without Aaron Judge. So it's a little depressing here for a lot of people who made early investments. And it's going to be really tough to come back from that. If you want the full breakdown on that, watch leading off today.

1:44.5

But first, a guy that you might be on the fence about starting this week, he's rostered in 41% of leagues. He's going against Houston, though. It's gauge jump, our young lefty from the athletics. First start was a little shaky for him. I know sometimes he struggled with walks a little bit in the minor leagues, but I watched that start earlier this week, Joe, against the Chicago Cubs. I was very impressed how he performed on the road. And I was also very impressed with how he was attacking left-handed hitters. I think he's a very uncomfortable bat for lefties because it's very difficult to pick up the baseball. He's got kind of a, almost like a weird herky-jurkey kind of motion in there where there's just a slight hesitation, but it doesn't break up the windup. It's really cool. It's really interesting, very different there. And I do think he's going to be tough on some of his left-handed hitters. Plus, with the way the pitching staff has gone for the Houston Astros of late, too. I think they've got some good opportunity for some Ws here. And look, the athletics have a very formidable lineup. So if you're not sure about starting the kid again, I would say give me another shot against the Houston Astros. Who's a guy that people are on the fence about, in your opinion, that they should give an opportunity to this weekend in fantasy baseball? There's probably going to be some raised eyebrows, and I understand it, Connor Preelip has looked awful over his previous three starts, but the first five starts were all

2:04.7

one or two earned runs going at least five innings, six strikeouts, eight strikeouts, six

2:09.4

strikeouts. The last three have been rough, and we do see that adjustment period for a rookie

2:13.6

pitcher. It's not going to be all smooth sailing, but I am willing to stream him this weekend,

2:18.0

mostly on the matchup. He is going into Kansas City, and I feel like one of the major

2:22.9

conversations this year has been how all of the Royals have disappointed. And if you look just over

2:26.9

the previous two-week sample size, Kansas City ranks 27th in baseball with an 80 WRC plus as a team. If you want to go a little more on the traditional side, if you're more of an OPS person, their team OPS, 653 over the last two weeks. So I do think this is a nice bounce back opportunity for Connor Prelip, and he is on fewer than 10% of rosters at this point. All right, let's talk about streaming hitters now. And I mentioned the Yankees at the top of the show with purpose, because I want to talk about Paul Goldschman. Jason Dominguez is a guy that should be back soon, and he will definitely take that everyday outfield role when he is ready to go after rehab. But in the meantime, at D.H, especially, you're going to get a lot more Paul Goldschmidt, who has been absolutely raking. A month of May was terrific for Goldie. It was kind of like a renaissance. Five home runs, 15 RBI in the month of May, 289 batting average, a 372 OBP, a 518 slugging. He is rostered, get this in just 16% of leagues on CBS, which means he's free 99 everywhere else. over the last week here first week of uh june as we've turned the

3:25.4

calendar five games five rbi a home run and a stolen base hitting 358 over that span so

3:31.1

paul goldschmidt is not a replacement for iron judge but he is a guy that's hot right now he's a

3:37.0

guy that's available right now he's plays in a tiny ballpark and there there's opportunity here in this weekend series against the Red Sox where you know the crowd's going to be into it. You know, it's going to be an exciting time. And I think, you know, maybe the maybe a little fountain of youth action here for Paul Goldschmidt lately, kind of swan songing it. I like it. I think it's going to be good this weekend. and I think it's going to be a guy that if you pick him up this weekend and he performs again, you hold on to him for the next week as well until you just kind of see it go cold, which it will eventually. But so far, it's been red hot for last about five weeks now, which is a pretty long time. Joe Rico, give me a hitter that you're looking at this weekend. Yeah, I did mention his name briefly on leading off today as a potential Aaron Judge replacement, but it's Nathan Lucas.

4:30.9

Nathan Lucas. Nathan Lucas is a guy that the Blue Jays have a lot of faith in. He was hitting second throughout their entire playoff run, first, second, alternating between the top two spots of the order. High expectations coming into this season, and he dealt with vertigo in the first month of the year,
