Summary

Unfortunately, the ice storm in Nashville prevented the guys from debuting The Public Figures Podcast until next week so this week we thought we'd take a look at some classic Nateland episodes featuring Brian, Aaron, and Dusty. The guys relive their school days, take a trip down memory lane remembering their favorite cartoons, and look at the difference between fairy tales, folk tales, and fables.

Hello, this is Aaron Weber speaking, by the way. We were excited to record the first ever episode of the new Public Figures podcast this week. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. I'm sure you've seen, even if you weren't affected by the storms. A lot of places got hit hard. And Nashville in particular took a beating.

0:24.2

All right, Dusty Sleigh, we're having a good time.

0:26.3

Hey, this week was supposed to be the first week of the public figures podcast,

0:32.6

the brand new podcast.

0:35.1

But the snowpocalypse came in and just turned Nashville into just an ice

0:42.1

filled, probably beautiful, but an ice field landscape. Hey everybody. If I look more worried

0:49.6

than even normal, it's because we have no electricity at our house and I'm in a hotel room with my wife,

0:56.2

three-year-old daughter, and our yappy dog. My wife and daughter went down to the lobby.

1:05.7

My dog's still here. But anyway, yeah, we're probably going to be without power for a while.

1:11.4

Nashville is pretty much shut down. At the time of recording this, I think there's still

1:15.0

about, you know, hundreds of thousands of people without power around the city. So we were

1:21.2

unable to get into the studio today and record. And because Brian couldn't figure out Zoom,

1:30.5

this is the best that we can do.

1:37.6

Personally, we got very lucky, my wife and I. We never lost power the whole time, which I'm learning was pretty rare. So we're pretty grateful for that. I got to be honest, I was in San Diego this weekend, so I kind of had the opposite experience as most people that were in Nashville.

1:51.2

I got back yesterday and it doesn't look like this ice is going to melt anytime soon.

1:59.6

So hopefully things get better soon and I hope you and your family are doing

2:04.7

okay. And I was up in Cleveland. I sent my family down to Alabama. So I flew to Atlanta. My mom

2:10.7

picked me up and now I'm in Alabama and it's a beautiful sunny day. Alabama is always beautiful.

2:16.7

But so I'm here and we can't do the first episode of the podcast today.

2:23.0

And I'm sorry about that.

2:24.0

I hate that.

2:24.5

So unfortunately, I'm bummed that we're not going to get to do a podcast this week,
