S. M. Y sources former Jets head coach Robert Sala was never going to fire

offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. That was not happening. However, he was

going to demote his game day responsibilities this week. Sala made the decision to

give play calling duties to Todd Downing because of the continued issues on offense.

He made that final decision this morning.

Then roughly five minutes later he was called into Woody Johnson's office and fired.

Based off Jeff Ulbrick's press conference, it sounds very much like he too is considering giving

play calling to Downing.

The Jets expressed concern with Hack at the soft season in their attempts to add Arthur

Smith as a senior advisor.

He would have been the lead offensive voice however he took the Steelers

O.C job. He wasn't fired because he was going to demote Nate Hackett, right? That seems more like

coincidental timing? Or less, unless Sala was telling everybody yesterday he was going to do this made the decision and it got out and got back to Aaron Rogers and Rogers talked to Woody last night.

I mean he did talk to Woody last night.

You know what the ultimate answer to that's going to be

but the ultimate answer is Jeff Albrick says he's going to do deep dive let's see if he makes any

changes right let's see if Todd Downing is the play caller on Monday night against Buffalo.

Yeah, and it's, I mean, this is why it gets really challenging, because if you start, then go dig

through the tape, because it's the only way to evaluate this, is go dig through the plays and the games themselves and

evaluate the play calls and the moments and then you'll make a determination.
