Summary

Mary welcomes back Natasha Crain to talk culture – and define it in light of Jesus’ words in John 15:18. What do we mean when we say culture? And why would Jesus tell us they will hate us, unless they know what we believe? Natasha’s current book, “When Culture Hates You” is a clear and articulate look at a very timely subject as Christians find themselves more and more in the crosshairs of 2025 culture, which is different from 1958 culture, which might be varied in 2030, should the Lord tarry. What are the rules of engagement? Soup kitchens, alternative lifestyles, abortion? Who is to say what the rules are today in light of the killing of Charlie Kirk? Making sense of the hostility and moving about society armed with an understanding of the true nature of light vs dark is an important conversation today, and loving the people around us who do not know Jesus, how do we advocate for the common good? We talk about the gatekeepers in society and what it takes to be admitted – or shut out – of the public square.

I hope it's not as heavy as the one you had on Tuesday. No, it's not. And you dropped it and spilled everybody's coffee. So. Like a 4.0 on the table here. So you got a book to talk about today. Yes. It's been a while. And so good to have her back. Yeah, it is. And it's a loaded book. The size doesn't matter. The color pages don't matter. It is a loaded, loaded book. Absolutely loved it. Welcome to Standard for the Truth. My guest is Natasha Crane having her back today. What a blessing. We're going to discuss the book when culture hates you. And it just amazes me the timing of my podcast guests from week to week. I often book guests a month
