I'm Alexis Green for the Wall Street Journal.

Investors lost a bit of their excitement for tech stocks.

Shares in some of the month's hottest companies, including Intel, Qualcomm, and Micron

technology were down 6.8%, 11%, and 3.6% respectively.

The NASDAQ had the sharpest loss among major

indexes, falling 0.7%, while the S&P held up a bit better dropping 0.2%. The Dow eeked out

a 0.1% gain. Concerns about inflation pushed 10-year treasury yields to a one-year high

after a hotter-than-expected April inflation report.

Among individual companies, Wendy's stock served 17% after reports that investor Nelson

Peltz's tri-end fund management is in talks to raise funds for a bid to take the fast food

chain company private. Venture global shares rallied 14% after the natural gas exporter reported

a sharp increase in first quarter revenue and profit. Meanwhile, him and her stock slid 14%

after the telehealth platform set its move to rejigger its weight loss offerings drove up costs.

Shares in Zoom Info technologies plummeted more than 30% after the market intelligence

company cut its full year guidance late Monday. And game stock shares dropped 3.5% after eBay rejected

the video game retailers $56 billion takeover bid. Head's up, an AI intelligence tool helped
