I want so much to serve you. You are a wonderful group of people, and it is important to me

to be here with you. I want you to turn with me if you would please to first Samuel 25.

If you'll glance at the name of your lesson, we're going to do a little bit of navel,

gazing. Amen. I'm going to read all the way through the chapter. I think that's the

best way to do this, and then we're going to take an invitation by the Holy Spirit to

hit it somewhat topically from that point on. So we've got a lot of reading. It's a long

chapter, but it's interesting. So stick with me through it. I'm going to begin at the

very first verse, and I'm going to read all the way through.

Now Samuel died, and all Israel assembled and mourned for him, and they buried him at

his home in Rama. I want you to feel that, that Samuel died, because I wonder who in

here has known what it's like to lose someone that was somehow their connection to their

calling. You understand what I'm saying? This was a man who knew for certain that David

was called of God to be king. Would we still believe if we did not have that person who

is stood beside us, telling us to go? Page, when you're over there on the other side

of the world, and nobody over here is still around you to say, this is what you've heard.

Will you still believe when that person is gone? In the year that King Uzziah died, I

saw the Lord. Sometimes it takes that separation for us to see him and hear him for ourselves.
