Summary

On this Hunter Profile episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan interviews fellow Iowan Joe Sterba about his love for deer hunting. Joe talks about fishing with his father at a young age that set the foundation for his love of hunting and being outside. Then Joe tells the story of his uncle taking him under his wing and introducing him to deer hunting during the muzzleloader season. Joe also talks about his first year as a bowhunter in 2012 and how it almost caused some relationship problems with his wife. Now he understands how to balance hunting and being a father and husband better during the hunting season. Finally Joe walks us through his annual public land hunting strategy where he uses digital scouting and boots on the ground to put the pieces of the puzzle together for the upcoming season.
