On this episode, Dan is joined once again by Mark Kenyon of Wired To Hunt as Dan shares his recent first time high fence hunting experience. Dan and Mark discuss Dan's initial impressions of the ranch as well as several misconceptions that were removed once Dan started his hunt. They kick off the conversation talking about CWD and how the ranch Dan was hunting on was taking a proactive approach to testing every single animal that is harvested. The first misconception Dan talks about is the size of the area theses animals have to roam. Dan was hunting in a 1300, 1700, and 2200 acre high fence pastures the week he was there. Dan mentions that he felt the deer had the ability to use their defense senses as well as had escape routes once those senses were triggered. Dan talks about how their operation worked and the difference between the ranches native pasture and their genetic pasture. They also talk about Dan's thoughts and feelings on hunting exotic animals and if he was justifying accepting that hunt because they were not native to the US.
