| 0:53.0 | I'll stop because we've had a few emails about a mispronunciation in my Cornwall episode. There's a place spelled Z-E-N-N-N-O-R, but it's not pronounced Xen-R. It's pronounced Xen-R, apparently. I don't think it's Zener. Zener. You said Zen-O-R, and it's Zener. Zener.'s zenir well listen like say like a tenor tenor tenor well listen we've had a living legend Sally she wrote in and she said just a heads up before the people of Cornel rise up to invade the rest of England Zenner is actually pronounced Zen Xenor is pronounced Xenar. My late mother was Cornish, so I am aware of all the strange spellings and pronunciations, especially mouse hole, which is Mousel. Mousel. What the hell is going on? That must just be like over years. It's just evolved, slurring their words Now listen we've had Megan She's age 15 She's written in to say I couldn't help but laugh at Ian's Laugh! A 15 year was laughing at me That's the least of your worries That's no good I couldn't help but laugh at Ian's pronunciation of Zenor. I live in Penzance, Cornwall, and I can confirm it's pronounced Zenor rather than Zenor. I love the podcast, though, so please do keep the episodes coming. No, Megan, age 15, actually, we've quit. That's it. I hope you're proud of you. I hope you're proud of yourself. Thank you so much, Megan. Enjoy school tomorrow, Megan, as you walk in. How would you... |
