Thank you again for having me. It's been a while,

hasn't it, since I've been on the podcast? Yes, the last time you were on, I think, was right after

your book on Elizabeth Bolin came out. Yes, it was. I did a bunch of interviews around about that

time, and I think you might have been, if not the first,

then certainly one of the earliest ones. I'm pretty sure I was the first. How could I not?

Yes, I'm really glad to be back, though. It's lovely. I love chatting to you.

I love it too. And we're going to chat about Elizabeth Berlin again today. And we're kind of like,

I know I did a little series with Sylvia on myths and misconceptions

of the six wives and and that kind of evolved into this episode I think where we can look at some

myths and misconceptions on Elizabeth Berlin. I was listening to Sylvia's episodes. I really enjoyed them. And then it just occurred to me, actually, there are a lot of myths about Elizabeth as well, probably enough to fill an episode. You know, you really wouldn't think, given that we know so little, that there were so many kind of misconceptions about her and her life, but there actually were. So I was able to put together a list of them.

And here are some like contemporary ones and some modern ones and some Victorian ones.

It's remarkable actually.

And before we get into them, I just want to tell everyone if you have not yet picked up her book on Elizabeth Belin, it is absolutely fantastic. You definitely need to pick it up.

It is, as far as I know, the only biography on Elizabeth Berlin that there is, right?

It is, yes. So she turned up in, or turns up, rather, in kind of ensemble books.
