This is a drumbeat that I have been. I think lightly hitting just, you know, this is common.

I see a trend here. I've mentioned this several times on the show. And Madison, our associate producer.

She gave me an article today and I read it and I instantly smiled ear to ear and I said,

oh, game on. Game on. Here we go. From NPR of all places. Not a conservative

bastion of thought. High-paying trade jobs sit empty while high school grads line up for

university. That's the headline. Garrett Morgan is featured. Big picture of this kid. He's an iron

worker. Garrett Morgan had it drummed in him constantly. Go to college. Get a bachelor's degree.

Direct quote from Garrett. All through my life, it was if you don't get a college, you're going to end

up on the streets. So he tried college for a while. Then he quits and he starts training as an iron

worker in the state of Washington. And he does this now on a regular basis where he is training

with a local school that specifically called the Pacific Northwest iron worker shop. So he trains

with them. And then many days he'll get out on a job site as a part of his training. This is just

called apprenticeship folks. They did this early on in America. So he's 20 years old and he's getting

the training and then gets out on the job on a regular basis. Many days a week he's actually

on a job site doing the iron working. Now listen to this. Parents listen to this please.
