Did I jump through a portal?

Sharon says,

I had something happened to me recently, and, of course, my first thought was to tell you and your listeners about it.

It was odd because I literally just listened the day before to the story about the woman that was lost during an expedition,

where she just kept ending up on the same floor of an asylum that they were exploring.

I was thinking to myself that I'm glad I've never had anything

like that happened to me. But two days later, I had a weird experience that I still cannot explain.

I was driving to our local Sam's Club, which is on the outskirts of my town, and though there is

a direct route on Broadway that takes you straight there from anywhere in town.

I do not usually take it. They've been doing a lot of construction, and half of the way there,

it narrows down into one lane of traffic, and it gets backed up quite a bit.

Fortunately, though, there's another entrance from a less popular road that you can take to the

back area of where Sam's is. I have taken this road many, many times.

It's one of my go-to secret shortcuts, because I hate driving on Broadway, even if there is no

construction. I was on my way there when I took the turn that would take me to Sam's Club,

and from this point on, I can't really explain what happened. As I'm driving,
