In April 2016, a concerned Australian MP, Jeremy Buckingham, visited the Condamine River in Queensland,

after strange local reports that the water in the river was on fire.

Unlike most reports of bodies of water becoming flammable, there was no trace of crude oil in the area,

On closer inspection, Buckingham noticed huge bubble streams erupting from the riverbed.
