English Lady Isdell Roberts died in 1970.

She was known as one of Britain's best mediums in her day.

As a child, she lived in Kensington,

West London, with her parents and seven siblings. But she was a little different from the rest

of her family, and she was aware of this as a child. In her autobiography, she writes,

From the moment of my earlier recollections,

I heard voices which the other members of the family could not.

Surprisingly, this did not frighten Estelle,

but her father would tan her hide with a leather belt when she spoke of it,

and he would tell her it was evil.

One of Estelle's brothers had died before she was born, and he would often visit her in the mornings and evenings, and Estelle would hold conversations with him, much to the alarm of her parents. When Estelle reached the age of 15, she left school and went to work as a nursemaid to three children, and as 18, she got married. One night, Estelle was

lying awake in bed with her husband when she saw her husband's aunt walk through their bedroom.

Somehow, Estelle instinctively knew this was her husband's aunt, although she'd never met her.

The following day, the news came that her husband's aunt had died the previous night.

Estelle went on to have three children, but sadly her husband became very ill with Bright's disease,

and he had to give up his employment as a clerk.

Estelle was forced to go out to work as much as she could, having now become the breadwinner

of the family, as well as mother, and after taking various domestic jobs, she became ill

from overworking, and her doctor advised her to move with her family to the coast for

the fresh air.

Tragically, however, it was not long before our husband deteriorated

further, and he soon died. After his death, Estelle wrote,
