0:46.0	Howdy Don, I'm excited for this new podcast we're doing. Yeah, so let's talk a little about the
0:50.9	podcast itself before we get into our first topic that why we're doing it and why it's called
0:58.5	Jimmy Akin's mysterious world. So what's this podcast about Jimmy? Well, as you explained in
1:05.8	the opening narration it's about both natural and supernatural mysteries. I've been interested in
1:11.9	like numerous people. I've been interested in the mysterious for a long period of time. I mean
1:17.2	basically all my life and over over the years I've done a lot of reading about different types
1:24.2	of mysteries and we're going to be talking about them here on the show and we're going to be
1:30.0	looking at them from both a faith perspective and a reason perspective. We're not going to quickly
1:36.5	dismiss things just because they sound strange but on the other hand we're not going to just
1:41.6	credulously embrace everything either. We're going to try to respect the level of mystery that
1:49.2	actually is out there. I mean coming from a Catholic perspective, God is infinite, His mystery is
1:54.6	infinite and He's put a lot of mystery into creation. So we want to acknowledge that. We don't want
2:01.6	to assume that everything in the world is just quotidian normal stuff that would flatten out
2:08.8	the mystery that God's built into the world. But at the same time we're aware that there are a lot
2:14.8	of claims about things that don't stand up to scrutiny. God also gave us the gift of reason to
2:20.6	sort these things out and so we're going to be looking at things from both a faith and
