Welcome to the Monday edition of the show where you're talking Mississippi State baseball after an unfortunate weekend in Starkville, where Mississippi State ended up losing the series 2-1 to Auburn, and in particular on Saturday in a very disappointing fashion.

State dominated on Thursday, 10 to 3, loses a really close game on Friday, 5 to 4,

and then kind of the wheels came off on Saturday.

Ron McPherson, we'll talk about his return and then kind of subsequent return being cut short.

A lot of things to unpack here, but no midweek game.

Mississippi State is traveling to college station to go take on Texas A&M,

who just came off of a series against Ole Miss in which the Aggies were able,

pardon me, were unable to pull off the win.

I'll lose 2-1 there in Oxford.

Old Miss has looked pretty solid over this last month after their Mississippi State loss.

But now you take a team in Mississippi State that has to go on the road to,

to keep going to say Boston College or even Austin College, which is also in Texas,

but has to go into College Station and you really feel like, you know, in order for them to feel solid going into Hoover, this will kind of get them back on the reins.

Because look, I mean, you know, State loses against Texas to one.

But the loss against Auburn, especially on Saturday, the way that game ended, is just a lot different than what, you know, like you can take losses, but losing in the fashion that they lost in really, really hurts them going forward.

It feels like the confidence is a little bit shaken.

And sometimes it's kind of like the last thing you're left with is kind of kind of the last the last thing that you have to

kind of savor. And so a lot of things to look at for Mississippi State. We will talk about all three

games. I do think that it's worth discussing all three, but really I think the biggest one

kind of the linchpin is what happened against Auburn on Saturday. I think that that's the one that has fans the most up in arms.

And for good reason. Auburn just really, really taking it to Mississippi State, especially there in the latter
