| 0:00.0 | What up guys? Welcome back at the Jeremy Scott Fitness podcast and radio show. Coming to you hot from my office on the Sunday morning here. By request, I'm going to rip into a normal day of my life. I probably have gotten 50 requests on this. Like, what does my normal day look like? And funny enough, we filmed this for YouTube probably like two or three years back. So if you ever go to the Jeremy Sky Fitness YouTube page and Google Day in the Life, Jeremy Sky Fitness, it should pop up. It made it a little bit sexier than it probably is now. Or honestly, my life is just different now. And we made it obviously fancier for a video, but you guys can check it out if you're interested. But my day, I'm going to dig into it here. Real simple. It's not super |
| 0:38.5 | exciting. And again, this evolves and changes all the time. And me being my own boss, I can pick and choose and do what I want. So I build this schedule in this life a way that it kind of fits me. At least it's manageable to me. And if you guys know anything about me, I hate wasting time. I'm not a fan of punting even 10, 15 minutes. |
| 0:36.8 | I don't have time for shitty meetings and events and things that do not serve me. I cut them out or you give them to, you know, my staff here and they rip through it. And if it's worthwhile, then I dig into it. Just because I do value my time more than anything else. And I take it serious. I really do. and I'm not, I'll say this, I'm not admittedly motivated by money. |
| 1:14.5 | It's not my prime mover for this life and in this job, I guess, if you want to call it |
| 1:18.9 | that. |
| 1:19.4 | When we started this, there was no social media at scale the way this was. |
| 1:23.3 | There was no Instagram. |
| 1:24.6 | Twitter was just kind of rolling and Facebook was not like Facebook |
| 1:27.7 | now. There was no ads and if you had a Facebook business page, remember people, even like to this day who have worked with us since then say, hey, Jeremy, you know what, I got to tell you something. When you started a Facebook business page, we made funny you and talk shit about you because you were like going to try to be a fitness person and blah, blah, blah blah and uh immediately you know you've done some really awesome things with it so we commend you |
| 1:27.9 | for that so that's where i started in fitness so it wasn't what it was today and the reason i share it with you is because the money is obviously changed in the scope of things of what we can do and who we can touch but that's not my prime motivator that's what wakes me up every single day i'm not naive enough to think that you don't need money in this world. I understand the world that we live in. And I grew up broke as shit, and that's not any fun either. And money doesn't make you happy, you guys. It doesn't leave you fulfilled. But it does let you do really cool shit that you couldn't do without it. So there is that kind of aspect to it. And so the way I go about is I don't come into this. |
| 2:19.2 | And we obviously, we have a CMS system and we track metrics and data and we know the ins and outs of our business. But that's not what I focus on. Me personally, for our people who are here and on the internet and you guys are listening, I try to just give as much value as I can. I try to be a faulting for you and not a drain. |
| 2:15.7 | So not meaning I don't want to be real with you guys, |
| 2:17.5 | but I'm not going to share with you and not a drain. So not meaning I |
| 2:34.6 | don't want to be real with you guys. I'm not going to share with you all the shitty fucking things that happened in my life. You have enough of that shit on your own. I want to be something that you can come to for like inspiration or motivation or at least give you perspective on the world and help you make your day a little bit better. That's what we do for our people here. I try to everyone everyone who pays us for anything, I try to give them 10 times back in value. So if they invest in us |
| 2:54.3 | $100, I want to give them $1,000 in value and want them to leave here thinking, man, I learned |
| 2:59.0 | something, I felt something that's actually helped me and it matters and I'm glad I paid for it. |
| 3:03.7 | And that's kind of how I go about my day. And for me personally, how do I think of it? |
| 3:08.1 | I just don't want to hate my fucking Monday, man. I really don't. I just want to love every Wednesday. I want to enjoy work. Now, there's going to be things like obviously we put out fires all day if you own a business and a building, if you will. And you're the landlord to yourself and things break and go wrong. and you have, you know, obviously hundreds of, you know, athletes at this point we work with. |
| 3:07.3 | There's going to be some things that go wrong or some miscommunication so you're putting out little fires all day and in the micro some of it sucks for sure but in the macro i love this shit man i love being my own boss and having the power and the juice to do what i want when i want and say what i want and i can walk into meetings and i can say fuck off or I can say yeah I'll take a job so it's it's really cool uh for me to kind of do this but again it comes at a price and I don't think it's for everybody so with that said my normal day I'll just dig into Monday and all my days are kind of different you guys because I'm a you know I'm a fitness person but we're we're kind of like you know fitness entrepreneurs at this point. We're not bound by anything, and we can, we can shift and change gears if we have to, |
| 4:01.2 | if we think something's fun or we want to dig into it. But my normal day, like tomorrow, I'm going to wake up at 3.50 in the morning, and that's early as hell, and I do that every single day and I have for years, except one day this year I didn't. My old man came to visit me, |
| 3:57.8 | and I've lived in the valley here for 10 years, you guys, and this is the first time he's |
| 4:01.7 | ever came to visit me, and I've lived in the valley here for 10 years, you guys. And this is the first time he's ever came to see my home and my business and the life that I've built with my wife and our friends and family here. And it meant a lot to me. So I did not wake up at 350 that day. And I actually did. It's the first day I've not come into work in 2018 as well. And I figure it was an important thing to do just because in the totality of my |
