Hello and welcome to my turn.

where we take turns talking about a series of related films to

draw connections and contrasts among them. I can at least guarantee the

contrast part if not always the relationships or the connections.

So, last time on my turn the audience voted for Ricardo's pick of

Escape From New York which is about a Bukaneering War here trying to

rescue a corrupt president from a dystopia of his government's own making in

the name of Bringing World War III to a close. That got me thinking about

what might be the polar opposite of Carpenter's Grimey Adventure, White House

Down. So, if you're not familiar with White House Down,

that's probably because it was eclipsed by its doppelganger, Olympus, has fallen.

See, in 2013, Hollywood gave us two movies about a president coming under

attack in his own White House with the building being seized by small

armies of commandos only for their plot to be foiled by a bodyguard looking for redemption.

Olympus is fallen starring Jared Butler and Aaron Eckhart was a hit and that

spawned an ongoing franchise. I was going to say the fall, it became the

insert has fallen franchise, right? I was looking at this up. Yeah, that's how it's

listed on Wikipedia. The three of them has fallen. Three of them, I believe, were made.

And there's a fourth coming. And the third one introduced

draw but there's father played by oh shit, I'll look it up, continue.

Yes, that becomes a franchise while White House Down starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxe
