This episode of the Truth includes strong language.

Growing up, I always had my way.

My parents bless their hearts.

They were not strong-wield people when they came to discipline,

so I had to compensate with some very exacting standards for myself.

Consequently, I have something of a tyrannical nature.

Don't get me wrong, I had a perfectly loving childhood.

It was too loving.

It lacked the challenge of conflicts.

And I've come to realize that bad itself can be its own subtle form of emotional abuse.

You see, the developing child craves boundaries in order to define itself.

So while I may be a profoundly self-aware person, I can never fully self-actualize because

of this omission in my development.

The child in me needs to be put in its place frame.

So here's how I envision the father-son dynamic.

After a careful statistical analysis.

We're on a lake.

Fishing.

Not much conversation, but the subtext is palpable.

I'm on my phone.

I respond to work emails, and then you say,

What the fuck in phone away will you this is supposed to be quality time?
