So when I told you this story to your screener, I cried. So I have to I've written down condensed nine years into just a few paragraphs of background. So is it okay if I read that?

0:34.0

Yes, please.

0:35.0

So I'm the mother.

0:36.0

Yes, I'm the mother of one daughter. She just turned 22 and at age 13 she started becoming very ill, physically, mentally, emotionally.

And the problem started with severe misophonia, which is a neurological disorder where ordinary sounds like people eating trigger her into a rage of fight or flight, a trauma reaction.

0:56.0

So yeah, so we're we used to be very close in affectionate, but I became progressively her worst trigger.

And now my breathing or even anticipation of what I might do puts her in a rage and anxiety attack. She can hardly stand to be with me sadly.

1:11.0

So over the years, this constantly being in trauma mode, damaged her body, her nervous system. And she developed pot syndrome, chronic fatigue, pain. She dropped out of high school at 15. She did on a feeding tube.

And I've been like Mama bird advocates for her all these years, taken her to every kind of medical intervention.

1:29.0

She's recently been diagnosed with autism, but she was perfectly normal before she got all her nervous system damage. So she's, you know, a medical and psychological mystery, but that's not my, she's very smart.

1:42.0

She self studied nursing and she became an RN. And for over a year, over a year now, she works two days a week at a hospital.

1:50.0

And she moved out to the hospitals are a bit noisy with people crying, screaming, saying, out.

1:57.0

Yeah, it's how can she tolerate that? I wonder how does she do that?

2:02.0

I don't know. She just says she does it and then she kind of collapses the next day from enduring it. She can endure it, but it just puts her into this like, psych, light trigger, call yourself anxious mode. And she can tolerate it.

2:17.0

And often family members are the worst triggers. So it's worse with me. So since she moved out to live alone six months ago, we've had very little contact.

2:29.0

And while she has a half a dozen doctors and therapists.

2:34.0

And she perceives me as meddling in her care. You know, I'm always trying to help and fix her and save her instead of accepting what is she really doesn't want much contact.

2:44.0

But I've recently learned that all she does in her five days off a week is, you know, stay at home alone. She barely eats. She's like, you know, so thin.

2:53.0

She spend her time doing coloring books and just trying to cope with the pain, the depression, the anxiety, but still, you know, she doesn't want my help or my company.

3:03.0
